A small roadside cascade hidden in the north end of North Bay. While it can be seen from the road, getting up close for an intimate photo requires a short scramble down the short, steep valley beside the road.
The falls is a clear slide-type waterfall, with inclined rock beds dipping in the downstream direction. I'd estimate that the falls are about 3-4 m high. They are mostly shaded.
I was able to park in a wide gravel area just downstream from the falls. At the downslope end of the guardrail, I found a short but steep trail down the side of the river's gully. While I was able to navigate without issue, it might be too much for people with mobility issues. The trail leads to a small area of flat-ish land that provides easy viewing of the falls.
When I wrote this entry the area just downhill from the parking area was being developed into new homes. The parking area is too small to be redeveloped into residential. But if this area is no longer available, visitors would have to find on-street parking elsewhere.
The falls are coded green because it is easy to be able to see the falls from the road. But getting to creek level to see the falls up close is a little more challenging. The short steep hill is likely manageable by most active adults. I may modify this site (and others like it) to a yellow code.
