This falls, by itself, is arguably a 4-star waterfall. But the park as a whole bumps this to 5 stars, without question. It also contains Kapkigiwan Cascade as well as 6 smaller waterfalls as part of the Hell's Gate (see entries for). This is a long way for many of us, but when flows are good, can be a top-5 waterfall destination in Ontario.
The park usually opens in late May. I have been twice before opening and just parked at the gate and walked in, as others were doing. The walk that is normally 5 mins just becomes 15. Upon reaching the parking lot by the river, a left turn leads to the High Falls. A right turn leads to Hells Gate (see entry).
This waterfall is featured in the 'Waterfalls of Ontario' book. Please pick up a copy to learn more. This helps to support this project. NOTE: There are no safety railings at this waterfall. Anyone that chooses to visit does so at their own risk.
